The Sand Series Matosinhos 2025 stage of the Beach Tennis World Tour came to a close on July 13 in Matosinhos, Portugal.

For the first time, Portugal hosted a stage of the prestigious Sand Series — often referred to as the “Grand Slam” of beach tennis. The tournament featured 16 women’s teams, 27 men’s teams, and 16 mixed teams from 15 different countries.

The competition took place from July 8 to 13 and included several events:

  • Sand Series Mixed Doubles Tournament — a mixed doubles event (one man and one woman per team), part of the Sand Series.

  • ITF Beach Tennis 50 International Tournament — a professional event awarding points toward the international ranking.

  • CAM Beach Tennis Cup, organized by the sports association Clube de Andebol de Matosinhos.

  • ITF Juniors U18 Tournament — for athletes under 18.

  • National Category A Tournament — for the top-ranked Portuguese players.

The total prize pool amounted to $100,000.

We’ve prepared a gallery of photographs from the final matches of the Sand Series Matosinhos 2025. In the women’s final, Italians Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini defeated the duo of Rafaella Miller (Brazil) and Patty Diaz (Venezuela). In the men’s final, Daniel Mola / Giovanni Cariani faced Mattia Spoto / Nicolas Gianotti. A dominant second set secured the win for Mattia Spoto and Nicolas Gianotti, further solidifying their lead in the ITF Beach Tennis world rankings.
