Campeonato Nacional Feminino — Round 18 (Final Matchday)

Sporting CP and Racing Power FC played out a goalless draw on the final matchday of the 2025–26 Campeonato Nacional Feminino (Liga BPI), bringing the season to a close at Estádio Aurélio Pereira. The result was inconsequential in the table — Sporting had already secured second place heading into the game, while Racing Power finished seventh — but the match day was marked by the retirement of Sporting veteran Rita Fontemanha, who ended a ten-year association with the club.

Sporting controlled much of the match but struggled to convert their possession into clear chances, particularly in the first half. In his post-match assessment, Sequeira noted that his team lacked tempo and directness in the opening 45 minutes. The second half was more purposeful — Sporting pressed higher, created combinations and generated goal-scoring situations, including a goal that was disallowed at a decisive moment. Racing Power responded by sitting deep and compact.

Earlier Benfica claimed the Liga BPI title for the sixth consecutive season, having already wrapped up the championship before this final round. The 2025–26 edition featured 12 teams, up from 10 the previous season. Sporting’s second-place finish garantees qualification for European competition 2026-27, though head coach Micael Sequeira acknowledged the club had aimed for more.
