During the first week of June Praia da Rocha hosted the ITF Sand Series Portugal, SS100 graded event and one of the biggest open beach tennis tournament of the season, organised by Federação Portuguesa de Ténis. 

In men’s tournament, fifth seeds André Baran (Brazil) and Michele Cappelletti (Italy) claimed the win by defeating Mattia Bazzi and Dario Jublin 6-3, 6-2 in the final, after eliminating top seeds and ranking leaders Nicolas Gianotti and Mattia Spoto in the semi-finals 6-2, 6-3. 35-year-old Baran secured his 45th career title, while Cappelletti reached 91 career titles with his 13th Sand Series triumph.

In women’s final, second seeds Giulia Gasparri and Ninny Valentini confidently defended the last year’s title, outplaying Russians Elizaveta Kudinova and Anastasiia Semenova 6-3, 6-1. For Gasparri it was her 74th career title; Valentini claimed her 47th. 

In mixed doubles finals, Spanish second seeds Ariadna Costa and Antonio Miguel Ramos played against Brazilians Flaminia Daina and Fabrício Neis, defeating them 7-6(5) and 6-0.
