On May 16, the Matosinhos Sports and Congress Center came alive with the energy of hundreds of dancers as it hosted the fifth edition of Rock the Floor Hip-Hop Dance Contest.

More than 70 teams and 500 dancers participated, competing across 7 categories, including the commanding MegaCrew division for large ensembles, MiniCrew and Duo category — dancers of all ages fought for their share of a €4,500 prize pool. Over 1,000 spectators filled the seats, cheering for their favorites as well as standout moments throughout the evening while the competition ran well into the night.

As part of a broader celebration of dance culture, workshops were held by Sílvio Ferreira, Gonçalo Cabral, and Kate Byednenko — all three of whom also served as contest judges. Bruno Abreu kept the competitive programme moving as host.

Closing the dance weekend on Sunday, the Exhibitions event brought together more than 500 dancers from 15 different dance schools.
