Fernanda Ribeira Gold Gala 2024

On May 25, 2024, the city of Maia hosted the Gold Gala Fernanda Ribeiro, a track and field meeting honoring Portugal’s Olympic champion. The event gathered national and international athletes across multiple disciplines at the Estádio Prof. Dr. José Vieira de Carvalho, blending competition with tribute to Fernanda Ribeiro’s legacy.

The program featured sprints, middle- and long-distance races, as well as technical events. In the men’s field, competitions included the 100 m, 800 m, 1500 m, and 5000 m, while the women’s program covered the 100 m, 800 m, and 1500 m. The women’s high jump saw Ana Leite take first place with 1.60 m, followed by Rafaela Santos and Ana Rita Silva.

The Gala provided emerging talents with an opportunity to perform at international standard, while celebrating the history of one of Portugal’s greatest athletes.
