Lisboa Green Trail hosted canicross for the second time
The ninth edition of the Lisboa Green Trail returned to Monsanto on 24 May 2026, bringing together athletes of all levels in a day combining sport, nature, and community. The event, organised by WeRun in partnership with ISCSP-ULisboa, featured the Long Trail, Short Trail, a walk, and Cãorrida — a dog-friendly race that has become a distinctive feature of the event since its debut in 2025 .
Races departed from the ISCSP-ULisboa campus on Alto da Ajuda, with the long trail starting at 9:00 a.m. and the Cãorrida at 9:30 a.m. Routes followed natural forest tracks with views over the Tejo River from several points.
In the Long Trail (22 km), Jack Barber took first place in a time of 1:32:52, followed by Amanuel Gebriel of MSTT in 1:40:24 and José Barros of Equipa ISCSP in 1:43:36. Sara Da Silva finished first in women’s race (01:54:27), followed by Fatima Negri Pinto Da Silva (01:55:01) and Anabela Vinha (02:09:19).
In the Short Trail (12 km), Miguel Ângelo Silva of CRP Ribafria won in 54:55, with José Monsanto of WalkAndRun-Seaside finishing second in 56:56 and Laurent Somawer third in 57:35. Female race resulted in Inês Correia grabbing the gold with result of 01:01:10, Sara Neves (01:09:46) taking the second and Catarina Reis (01:10:38) closing the podium.
And finally, canicross ended up with Diogo Fona and Lucky finishing first (01:03:24), Tiago Luz and Luna taking second place (01:05:11) and David Branco with Gaia finishing bronze (01:08:57).
The next event organized by WeRun is scheduled to happen on 21st of June.
