Matosinhos hosts Volleyball European League
Matosinhos, Portugal, hosted three CEV Volleyball European League matches on June 12-14th 2026.
Portugal secured a victory over Latvia on Sunday, June 14, in the final match at Centro de Desportos e Congressos de Matosinhos.
The result appeared to be challenging for Latvia team, who had entered the weekend as leaders following the previous round, but dropped both of their matches — first to Montenegro and then to the hosts Portugal — slipping to 13th place in the standings.
The final match of the weekend ended in four sets with a tight battle.

The 2026 Men’s European Volleyball League is the 22nd edition of the competition and has high stakes this year: the tournament now serves as qualification for the 2028 Men’s European Volleyball Championship, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals and securing their place at EuroVolley 2028.
The third round of the 2026 CEV Volleyball European League is set to take place the following weekend, June 19–21.
