Portugal Summer Football Cup 2026 ends with finals and trophy ceremony in Lisbon

The fifth edition of the Portugal Summer Football Cup concluded on Sunday after two days of competition at the Estádio Universitário de Lisboa. The tournament brought together amateur, semi-professional and university teams from several countries across men’s and women’s competitions.

Held on 4–5 July and organised by Move Sports, the tournament featured 7-a-side and 11-a-side formats across Open and +35 categories. More than 80 matches were played throughout the weekend, with each team guaranteed at least four games before the play-offs and finals on Sunday.

First launched in 2022, the Portugal Summer Football Cup has grown into one of Lisbon’s regular international amateur football events. Previous editions have welcomed teams from the United Kingdom, Italy, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, Romania, the United States and Portugal. The 2025 edition brought together around 500 players representing 32 clubs from nine countries.

Throughout the weekend, teams from different countries shared the venue across simultaneous matches, creating an international atmosphere both on and off the pitch. Alongside the competition, players, coaches and supporters spent time together between fixtures, reflecting the tournament’s emphasis on community as well as football.

The tournament concluded with award ceremonies across all four categories, bringing another edition of the annual event to a close at the Estádio Universitário de Lisboa. The event was supported by media partner A Bola, Portugal’s leading sports daily.
