Volta a Portugal 2025: Tivani wins stage 9 on Montejunto, Reis Claims Lisbon ITT in stage 10

On Sunday in Lisbon, the Volta a Portugal 2025 came to an end. The race took place from August 6 to 17, spanning 12 days in total, with a prologue, 10 stages (including one ITT), and one rest day.

The first Volta a Portugal was held in 1927, and at that time it lasted up to three weeks. Since the 1980s, the race adopted a two-week format, and from the mid-2000s it has consistently included a prologue and around ten competitive stages.

The 86th edition featured 9 Portuguese teams, 2 Spanish teams, 2 American teams, as well as teams from Israel, Mexico, and Australia.

Stage 9 started in Alcobaça and finished atop Montejunto. Nicolás Tivani (ARG, 3:59:30) celebrated a deserved victory, 14 seconds ahead of Pau Martí (ESP, 3:59:44), with Tomás Contte (ARG, 4:00:17) completing the podium, 47 seconds down.
