XXXVIII Oeiras Triathlon
On May 11, the municipality of Oeiras hosted the 38th edition of the Oeiras Triathlon, organized by the Portuguese Triathlon Federation. In addition to the amateur races, the event included the National Sprint Championship for elite athletes, juniors, cadets, and paratriathletes. More than 1,000 athletes from 24 different clubs lined up at the start — a record number of participants in the event’s 38-year history.
One highlight was the participation of Outsystems Olímpico de Oeiras, which had the largest number of athletes in the Elite category, with 18 registered competitors.
The race course remained unchanged: a 750-meter swim (one lap) at Praia da Torre, followed by a 20 km bike segment along Avenida Marginal, and a 5 km run (two laps of 2.5 km), also along the Marginal.
