Zurich Marató Barcelona

On March 10, 2024, Barcelona hosted the 45th edition of the Zurich Marató Barcelona. Around 20,000 runners were registered, with approximately 57% international participants and 25% women.

The race introduced a new course in 2024, designed to be flatter and more central. The route had 33 turns and passed through key city landmarks including Passeig de Gràcia, Arc de Triomf, and Sagrada Família. Compared to previous editions, the elevation gain was reduced by more than 30 metres.

The Zurich Marató Barcelona is certified as a World Athletics Gold Label event and is considered one of Europe’s fastest marathon courses.
